The Day of Dart symposium and dinner will be held at the Indianapolis Propylaeum.

A reunion of fellows and commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the Dart Center Ochberg Fellowships is planned in conjunction with the Society of Professional Journalists' convention in Indianapolis, Aug. 27-29.

The main event, the Day of Dart symposium and reunion dinner, is scheduled Friday, Aug. 28, at the Indianapolis Propylaeum. The Dart Society has secured substantial funding for this conference but attendees are encouraged to approach their employers for help with expenses. With the range of training panels offered by SPJ, this is an excellent professional development opportunity.

Workshops on the coverage of trauma and violence will be presented by fellows and others associated with the Dart Center during the SPJ convention at the Indianapolis Westin. Society and center leaders will be recognized and the 2009 Mimi Award will be presented at the society reunion dinner Aug. 28.

"A reunion is something many Ochberg fellows have talked about for years," said Dart Society President Scott North. "Here's our chance. By timing this gathering to coincide with the SPJ convention, we will be getting the opportunity to meet many other great journalists and share someof what we've learned about journalism and trauma."

A Dart Society conference committee -- board Vice-Presidents Miles Moffeit and Mike Walter, board Treasurer Tina Croley, and 1999 fellow David Handschuh -- is heading the effort.
