Society board to expand

The Dart Society board has voted to expand, incrementally, to nine members.

The Dart Society Board of Directors voted Nov. 7 at its annual meeting to expand the six-person board by three, adding one seat in 2010 and two in 2011. The board now is seeking candidates. Letters of interest from journalists in the Dart Society should be submitted to Deirdre Stoelzle Graves by Jan. 15, 2010, for the first selection.

The Dart Society board holds monthly conference calls and officers of the board are tasked with spearheading at least one working committee.

The board met in Atlanta in November and inducted two new officers. Arnessa Garrett, a 2006 Dart Center Ochberg Fellow and Dart Award winner was elected board treasurer; 2008 Fellow Jeff Kelly Lowenstein was elected board secretary.

Other officers are Tina Croley, the 2007 Mimi Award honorable mention; vice-presidents Miles Moffeit ('04) and Mike Walter ('05); and president Scott North ('03).

The board is deeply invested in implementing the society's strategic plan, which targets growth and membership; staffing and infrastructure; fund-raising; and publishing.
